The English right-back played 190 games for Manchester United.
Premier League team West Ham United has signed Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka on a seven-year contract, the Hammers confirmed on Tuesday.
Wan-Bissaka, 26, joined Manchester United from Crystal Palace in 2019 and played 190 games for the 20-time Premier League champions.
He was in the starting lineup that faced Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the FA Cup final last season and won the cup. However, he is not part of Erik ten Hag’s plans for the new season.
It’s an amazing feeling to be back in London, and I’m excited about what’s coming,” Wan-Bissaka said. “I was born here, and I know London well, so playing in this city again means a lot to me.”
Manchester United will sign Bayern Munich’s right-back Noussair Mazraoui to replace Wan-Bissaka.
Wan-Bissaka is West Ham’s eighth new player, joining after Jean-Clair Todibo, Crysencio Summerville, Luis Guilherme, Niclas Füllkrug, Wes Foderingham, Max Kilman, and Guido Rodríguez.
“I can’t wait to get on the pitch, meet the players, and start from there,” Wan-Bissaka said.
“I see a team that works together, supports each other, and has each other’s backs through everything.”
The 26-year-old might make his first appearance for West Ham in their Premier League opener against Aston Villa on August 17.
“He’s exactly the kind of player we want at this club during the best years of his career,” Steidten said.
“He’s a very talented defender who is great in one-on-one situations. He’s also versatile, which is another plus.
“He’s played over 170 Premier League games, so he knows the league very well.
