Former Nebraska football coach Scott Frost is coming back to coaching, this time in the NFL.
As reported by ESPN’s Pete Thamel, the ex-Cornhuskers coach is joining the Los Angeles Rams as a senior football analyst for Sean McVay and his team.
This is the first known coaching role for Frost since he was dismissed from Nebraska in 2022 after the Cornhuskers began the season 1-2, following a home loss to Georgia Southern.

According to The Athletic’s Rams beat reporter Jourdan Rodrigue, Frost’s responsibilities with the Rams will mainly focus on special teams. He will also assist with the offense and defense. Rodrigue mentioned that Frost spent time with the Rams during OTAs and training camp last month.
Frost faced challenges during his five seasons at his alma mater in the Big Ten, with Nebraska posting a 16-31 overall record and a 10-26 mark in conference play. His best season in Lincoln came in 2019 when the Cornhuskers, ranked as the unofficial No. 26 team in the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll, finished with a 5-7 record.
Under Frost, Nebraska never made it to a bowl game, as they didn’t meet the necessary benchmarks to qualify. As part of his contract and buyout terms, Nebraska owed Frost approximately $16.4 million.
